You can visit Venice and not take a ride in a gondola, one of the most popular excursions? Wander through the city's canals in the silence offered by the slow pace of this typical and elegant boat gives a unique feeling and a memorable experience that everyone should try. Many are the itineraries and depend on which part of the city, take the gondola. The rates are official excursions by day 80 euro for 30 minutes up to 6 people and 40 € for each 20 minutes more, from 19:00 to 8:00 the rate rises to 100 Euros. We suggest that you always adhere to the gondoliers fare and travel time provided by the regulations of the City.

Excursions Lagoon Islands

Do not miss the tours to the islands of the Venetian Lagoon: Murano, Burano and Torcello (see description below). One of the tours that we can suggest provides a multilingual guide, duration of the trip about three hours and thirty minutes at a cost of 20 Euros per person. In winter, the departure is at 14:00 and in the summer there are two departures: 14:30 am to 9:30 pm and afternoon.

Tours Riviera del Brenta (March to October)

Among our favorite excursions to suggest, can not miss a trip with the boat on the river that runs along the route of the Riviera del Brenta. A journey through art and history, along the streets of the ancient burchielli of 1700. The cost of 70 € for the whole day per person includes: boat, multi-lingual guides on board, stop and visit the inside of three Venetian Villas.

Main islands of the Venetian Lagoon.

Burano Island, with its houses painted in bold colors and lively reflected in the green waters of the channels, is known for its lace work (traditional textile production) dating back to the sixteenth century. It 'been home to great artists such as Baldassare Galuppi, Remigio Barbaro and Pino Donaggio. Very good are typical sweets that are made here, including the best known is called "Bussolà."
Murano Island, composed of seven smaller islands is famous throughout the world for its glass since before 1000. The organized tours will take you to see directly in a glass factory as some artisans create objects under your eyes. After the descent of Napoleon Bonaparte were only three of the eighteen churches on the island: Santa Maria e Donato (seventh century), Santa Maria Degli Angeli (1188), St. Peter Martyr (1348). Also visit the Palazzo Giustiniani - Glass Museum, Palazzo da Mula, and the Lighthouse of Murano.
Torcello Island, just 11 inhabitants in the Middle Ages came to count several thousand, boasts a priceless archaeological heritage. It 'was the first settlement in Venice for its proximity to the ground, then the island was abandoned after the plague. The magnificent basilica of Santa Maria Assunta was restored in 1000 and today is still as it was then. Inside it has the mosaics from gape, one of which, of considerable size, represents the Last Judgement. To visit the church of S. Fosca and the so-called "Throne of Attila."

San Giorgio Maggiore, located in front of Piazza San Marco, is a destination for many tourists who visit the Basilica and the Monastery.
Venice Lido, the largest island of the lagoon (after Venice itself), known for its beach with fine golden sand and clean water, the Casino (summer home), the Palazzo del Cinema from which there is the International Film Festival. In the center part of the architecture is rich of art nouveau buildings and green parks.
Giudecca Island, the area is mostly residential. To visit the church of the Redeemer (designed by Palladio) from which the eponymous festival held since 1577 Saturday before the third Sunday in July.
Pellestrina, the main activity of its inhabitants is fishing. Suggested place for bike riding.

The Riviera del Brenta

The Riviera del Brenta is the extension of Venice over the course of a river that joins Padua. This area has experienced from 1500 to 1700 a golden becoming a favorite holiday resort for rich Venetian nobles of the time. Venetian nobles were transported to the river by a boat called Burchiello that was pulled from the river by men, oxen or horses, while the goods were carried by boats called Burch. The territory is rich in charm and culture, green spaces populated by swans, ducks and herons, the famous Venetian Villas, so as to constitute a tourist attraction. Certainly one of the trips not to be missed.
